Computer clean up

David cleaned up my computer yesterday - transferred all the photographs .. and there were MANY!! .. on to my external hard drive giving me so much Free Space!! I must never let them go to "My Pictures", straight onto my external hard drive, and even there do some deleting - how many photographs do you need to keep anyway?

Mommy & Daddy's Wedding Day

I'm so pleased that I have found these photographs - specially the top one. There is another of them sitting behind the cake which is gorgeous, think Tracy has it? Mommy looks beautiful - really ahead of her time!

Mommy

This is a "barely there" photograph - I think it must have been a proof and printed on very thin paper.

Damaged on top right which I have fixed and also on the feather boa - you can see my handiwork! Rather difficult this one but I think it is lovely of Mommy.

I want to look like my Mommy!!!!!!!!

Margaret

Another "old" photograph!

This is my dear friend Margaret on her Wedding Day.

She was a very talented writer, author, journalist and Woman's Editor of The Argus.

I found this photograph yesterday, very badly damaged around the edges, quarter plate size.

Managed to clean it up and cropped a bit, also gave it a slight sepia tone and a "blur",

Taken at her parent's home before she left for the church. I used 3 lights which I took along with me and set them up - can you imagine!! Terribly keen and no problem in those days!!!

I think it looks naturally lit.

Daddy & Gaeleen

This must be one of the first photographs I took when I first became interested in photography - encouraged by Fr. Laurence McCauley, who at that time had a Rolleiflex and was taking fantastic photographs.

I've always love this shot of Daddy & Gaeleen, what a wonderful father he was everyone loved him.

It was taken with my very first camera, a twin lens reflex called a Flexo if I remember correctly. I had great fun experimenting with it.

Dawn & Cathy

Dawn - wife of the Arts & Etertainment editor when I was at the Argus.
This was for the "Best dressed Woman" a feature Margaret Williamson did for Femina

Also photographed Adele Searle for this, just can't find it right now.

Taken with the Rolleiflex. This is a very old print - took out all the scratches.

Cathy, who used to love next door many years ago. This was with the Canon (roll film) and printed on AGFA Portriga Rapid paper - entirely matte surface with a slightly sepia look about it. One of my favourites at that time.

This also has a lot of blemishes which I have cleaned up.

Portraits with Floodlamps

I wish I could do portraits like this again. I no longer have the floodlights or the stands, or the black back drop. OR THE MODEL!!

I remember her name was Annette, she was an actress with the most gorgeous natural auburn hair .... and I took her Wedding photographs.
Taken with the Rolleiflex

My Favourite photograph of Elizabeth Taylor

This is my favourite photograph of Elizabeth Taylor - and I have many!

I have a book called "Elizabeth Taylor - A Biography in Photographs" by Christopher Nickens. Beautiful photographs - but one in particular that I love - I've just taken a shot of it now and will download and post.

Always loved her - still do.

Gorgeous Cat & Flowers

Thought I'd give Venice a break - so went out into the garden about half an hour ago.

The March Lilies are blooming, such a gorgeous shade of deep pink.

Caught the very last flowers of the Chives - they keep seeding themselves every year for as long as I can remember.

And Little One sitting on the balcony ledge as I went outside - so handsome, just had to take his picture.

Venice Masks

This photograph was taken by Igor Sadovy using a Panasonic DMC TZ8

The clarity is marvellous - that's why I love my Panasonic!

The Gondoliers

Always charmimg you with a "special" price! And they are very charming themselves.

Zoomed in on him from quite a distance with the Lumix.

This must be one of the last photographs I took - about to cross the bridge and then turn right to our hotel.
I saw these two gondoliers having a chat, and when I lifted the camera, the one on top stuck his tongue out at me (wish I'd taken it!!!) I got a bit of a shock, anyway I think he was embarassed, he dipped his head as you can see and started laughing with his chum!!!

Venice

I found this statue of Senator Martinus Barbaros most lifelike - just look at his cloak, the way he is holding it - could be material.
just had to take a few picures.
